Learn about waste reduction. Being able to identify any of the 8 wastes (Defects, Overproduction, Waiting,Non-utilised skill, Transportation, Inventory, Motion, Extra processing ) in the processes, can help you improve your skills in lean principles faster. Once identified, the PDCA methodology can be used to drive execution. Starting with 5S implementation. As you PLAN, define the problem and quantify the impact to the process or business. Do -Ask the 5 Whys and 2 H to explore solutions so you can do the task with a clear understanding and take before pictures. CHECK - review the effectiveness of the solutions with the team. ACT - implement and take after pictures, monitor and apply continuous improvement.
