Some other points to consider : Start that dialogue early (knowledge isn't power!), share what you know (usually the what and why) and what you'd still need to understand (the how). Be open with some of the difficult parts of the conversation (share the challenge). Seek advice, ask for input, perspective, ideas. Don't be dismissive. It's okay to throw everything on the table and slowly work through them. As things progress, keep the flow of information moving - radio silence could cause a lack of interest and buy-in to future discussions.

Used in the right way, this brings huge benefits to the team and individuals, allowing the potential to co-create the 'how', bringing tighter collaboration, accountability and ownership. This helps level set on the expectations needed by all to achieve those goals and importantly provide everyone with a sense of purpose, belonging and contribution to the wider strategy.

This is a huge topic and many ways to dissect recognition and reward / celebrate individual and team wins! The one for me is how you deal with the losses! I once worked at a company that promoted one of their values as WAAT (Win As A Team) and made a big rah-rah around the noise of celebration. Amazing! But to experience the highs - you must at times experience the lows, that's just life. When that happened it was a different story, so the acronym banded between the teams was LOYO (Lose On Your Own). The moral is : you still need to recognise those moments when someone is struggling, not hit their number, etc. Rallying around to support and still bring that sense of togetherness even when there's no brass band in the background!

A couple of last points on fostering stronger r/ship with your team. It's important as a leader to 'be a part of the team', in other words not having an ego. It's not a 'me & them' or 'them & us' mentality - it's just US! Lastly, we are all just people, so act with humility and be prepared to show vulnerability when needed.
