I have said it before, and Ill say it again: get connected on LinkedIn as much as possible. This is one of the most established ways to connect with people in your industry and get new opportunities. If you work with people on set or on a project, add them on LinkedIn afterwards, and then see who they are connected to, and try to connect with those people too. Once you start down this path, it will slowly start snowballing and you will find people who will want to work with you!

It's really funny that this topic came up in my feed as I've had multiple colleagues reach out to me interested in getting a #job in the video content creation space. My advice to anyone attempting to transition into the industry would be to figure out what kinds of videos you enjoy making OR if you're not sure, figure out what part of the video process you tend to have knack for or excitement over. I call this your superpower. Figure out what gets you excited, and dive into that. For example, my superpower is editing. Then find someone who needs help with editing and do it for free to get experience. You do that enough times, you'll build an impressive portfolio. You put that in front of 100 people a day who need help - you'll get in.
