Clear basics is very critical when someone is starting to work with OS. We need to be crystal clear about different aspects so that we can co-relate them with any issue and find root cause of that issue. RCA(Root-cause analysis) is a very relevant tool when it comes to fix issues permanently.

I find having the best possible understanding of the basics can help you help others understand why or how you are doing something. Powershell scripting or Bash can be extremely useful when we want to automate tasks and save time while maintaining a particular set of conventions. Ex: We can automate restart of servers through PS scripting on a particular time on weekends.

Having a strong relationship with your team/other teams is important to meeting deadlines. Being open about struggles allows others to jump in and share what they may be experts in. I find many times throughout my day many of my employees are the missing piece I need to put two things together.
