Based on my experiences CDR, CRM and network logs are the gems of telco industry. To start with this information is important to have a centralized and integrated inventory with correct business definition to at least to start Analytics 101 for simple questions. To leverage the information into insights then you will need to enrich it with external information such as demographic, survey, NPS etc. This information are usually available through API marketplace for free or you can buy it from several providers.

You can use logs and event information files, but customer authorization is essential, as this is sensitive and confidential data, you must verify the data protection law in order to manage such kind of data..
