When you’re in the flow, you can sit for long hours writing and forget to get up to do anything else. This is really bad for the health. Get up and move, take a walk, eat and sleep well.

I try to plan out my days as much as I can. Meaning that I also schedule regular breaks and plenty of downtime. For example, I take our dog Corny on walks during the day and I incorporate restorative yoga practices into my work days. These activities really make a difference.

Many people think learning stops when you are out of college, but that's not true. If you stop learning, you will be out of the market. You must keep upgrading your skills. You should learn about your work and the market—you should know every new skill in your career. Remember, learning can build your brand and help you grow in your career. No matter what, do not stop learning.
