Here's how you can enhance your strategy skills through feedback.

Peer learning can teach you a great deal. Developing a habit of asking questions, particularly "why" questions rather than "what" questions, is essential. Understanding the reasons behind how things work and seeking feedback provides a variety of opinions to evaluate. This approach encourages deeper thinking and often leads to innovative, out-of-the-box ideas.

Here's what worked for me to enhance my strategy skills through feedback, even though asking for it can be tough: I made it a habit to seek feedback regularly. Scheduling brief check-ins with colleagues and mentors helped me gather insights without feeling overwhelmed. I focused on specific areas where I wanted to improve. Listening without getting defensive was key. I reminded myself that feedback is meant to help me grow, not criticize. After receiving feedback, I took time to reflect and identify patterns or recurring themes. Implementing the suggestions I received and tracking my progress showed others that I valued their input. Over time, this made asking for feedback less daunting and more constructive, boosting my strategy skills.

What I do usually, is after my one to one with my manager, I create a table of her feedback on the left and how I can improve myself during the next month, with actions, on the right. By reflecting on feedback consistently, you can identify patterns, recognize areas for improvement, and make informed adjustments that drive more effective and adaptive strategies.
