We cannot speak whatever we wish to. I personally like a word called "verbal diarrhoea" which means words come out of our mouth without control & we cannot get anything out of those. I like to think that one of the most important things I bring as an executive coach isn't providing criticism but empowering my clients to take the feedback they're getting—from their leaders, their peers, the teams, and their clients—and determine what they want to do with that feedback. What changes do they want to make? What actions do they want to take?

Feedback is very raw at times. I guess we need to start using the word Feed-forward. Thanks to Marshall Goldsmith for introducing this word. As coaches if we start using Feed-forward, we can be the best in our communication because in Feed-forward we use Better choice of words More productive More futuristic

Continuous feedback is critical, but it's hard to accept sometimes. Here's what to remember: 1) Most feedback comes from a good place -- someone wants to help you. Cool! Drop your ego, and just listen. You don't have to accept it (although you should definitely consider it). 2) Try to take notes on the feedback you get from others. Then bring it to your coaching session! Let's parse it together. 3) Try to take notes on the verbal and non-verbal responses to your communications with others. This will help you and your coach work together on identifying strengths and areas to improve. You may see a theme here: keep a book of experience with you to take notes. This is probably my biggest secret to success as a coach and manager.
