In my opinion, transparency play major role in developing the trust with the senior stockholders of the project. You are the lead role on behalf of them who had immense interest in the project as, the project is one of the milestones for them, depending on what role and domain they have among the senior stakeholders. Crystal clean written and oral communications about all important aspects of the project with them, viz overcoming hindrance, strict expenditure control to check on the cost and timely completion of milestones are more important parameters to monitor and manage the progress path of project as planned & desired by senior stakeholders. This leads to building trust with them at the mammoth scale & then you entered in inner circle.
