This is very important, there are even some practices that traditional science really doesn't accept. Astrology & Numerology are two examples, often dismissed as pseudoscience mainly because of how horoscopes and popular culture have made these ancient practices look. The truth is, Numerology & Astrology were serious sciences in the past & often used to predict things like the weather, track the seasons, etc. Nowadays, this kind of ancient science can help the field of Geology in potentially finding patterns that correlate with enough frequency that it can be helpful in estimating the timing of potential major seismic activity. We won't be able to dissect the Earth, so pattern recognition via these complex methods could be very useful.

This is also crucial and a part of the scientific method. It is necessary to go back and see how a prediction came true or not, how often they do and if they can be reliable enough. If something didn't happen as predicted, it's time to see where it went wrong and if anything was missed, likely leading to the discovery of new patterns or the polishing of an existing pattern-finding method.

Exactly, this is yet another part of the scientific method, experiment! I can relate to this one, I'm always experimenting and have posted in forums and now on X, experimental Earthquake & Weather long-range predictions using the incredibly unconventional tools of Numerology & Chinese Astrology. The main point of using these "esoteric tools" is to see if they, combined, help pinpoint riskier dates for natural disasters and even the type (Earthquake or meterological). These things can help with the "when" while traditional geology helps with the "why, where and how". Trial and error leads to important discoveries, or at least puts the hypothesis to rest if it doesn't work, and one can continue experimenting. Geology is a fairly new science.
