Understanding complex contexts and solving novel problems in multidisciplinary teams represent two key skills for successful students and professionals. From engaging in team sports, which cultivate well-being and develop teamwork skills, to exposure to complex challenges in volunteer work, academic clubs, student competitions or research projects, the most important thing is to be exposed to complex challenges that will complement curricular activities. It is also worth mentioning the importance of exposure to problems of varied natures, both aligned with the professional's area, and others that develop skills that are part of the 9 intelligences that support our personal and professional development. Always have this feeling that 'extra' prefixed with curricular in the times of today moving to tomorrow is simply extra and hence at best to be taken as a silent word. Because, the curriculum next, in principle, thrives when unbounded. That way it is better poised to inject life to real problems, solution approaches, arguments with a common goal to advancing the latent knowledge and skills of any course of study. Where, teacher(s)-learners combine can build/rebuild and engage/disengage with their lesson plans with all their needful 'extras'. See, what does last long are some of those 'extra' triggers that inspire individual beneficiaries in so many different ways... to fail and to succeed in their open curriculum of life!
