Building trust is crucial; leaders should act on feedback, making employees more engaged and motivated. Recognizing hard work and including employees in decisions makes them feel valued. Active listening resolves conflicts by understanding all sides and finding solutions. It supports change by addressing concerns and involving employees. Encouraging creative ideas and regular check-ins enhance teamwork. This approach leads to a more effective, motivated, and united workforce, driving continuous improvement and better problem-solving.

I try to keep things very simple; shutdown the chatter inside my head and focus on what's been said by the other person. The late Steven Covey said it best and elegantly when he said, "seek first to undertsand and then be understood". often we're busy trygin to formulate a response in our heads, and we miss what is being said. if you ask a lot of questions and try to understand, you'll improve engagement, discover opporuntities and reduce mi-understandings.
