Here are a few I use: - Ensure everyone has some time to speak - let people know everyone's voice is critical to the conversation and this is why they were invited - Turn on your cameras...yes it is super important - Encourage the use of "raising your hand" - Make it fun by letting the person who just answered call on the next person - use breakout rooms for more intimate conversations

Breakout rooms are especially useful tools when you have larger number of participants and there may be some introverted personnel within that group that may struggle to get involved. By splitting off into smaller groups it can help them start to engage and interact. Then, as they start to feel more comfortable, it may even encourage them to come forward within the larger group. Create a more comfortable environment for them to come forward and you may find they provide the most useful insights and input for that event.

A course leader skilled in facilitating these connections really helps people to be more inclined to contribute to the group discussions, so training people in these skills can make a huge difference too.
