There is no dearth of articles on Leadership. Everyone has their own style of functioning driving the results. For me, the leadership should have the following : 1. one who promotes Transparency and Accountability, implements checks and balances to prevent abuse of power 2. Encourage open communication and be ready to listen and not take revenge 3. Foster a Supportive Culture through Empathy, Respect, and Support where employees feel valued and heard. Provide resources for Mental Health and well-being 4. Encourage Ethical Leadership who offers a development program focused on ethical decision-making and Leadership skills 5. Provide safe channels for feedback through regular surveys to gauge the health of the organizational culture

To me a good leader is all about being human. A quality that most often is not taught in any of the business schools. To me a good leader is all about backing your team members, in adversity, or otherwise. To me a good leader is about spending some informal time with your team and be open to discuss personal matters. To me a good leader is all about care, compassion and commitment. To me a good leader is about being a bridge between management and the team and share clear insights to lead forward. To me a good leader is about sorting the issues between the team members and not run away from it.

If you execute without a vision, you might be losing people along the dark tunnel. If you have a vision without a strategy to execute on it, you might be losing people in the fantasy. Both vision and strategy are necessary to inspire others to follow and see how their contributions can make an impact

Be curious! Listen to understand rather than listen to respond. Being a leader doesn't mean you need to have all the answers. Surround yourself with great people, build a culture of high trust and accountability, and support staff to be their best through meaningful assignments and as much autonomy as possible.

As a leader one must practice a rule of 10:1. The idea here is to listen for 10 mins and then reply in 1 minute. This rule helps a leader to listen, process and empathise with the team. Also, this helps you to understand the emotional aspects going around you and give you time to develop an intelligence around the topics.

Emotional intelligence is also a must have for a leader because it concerns his/her own emotional state and the emotions of his team members. This fosters a supportive environment that also should increase productivity. 1. Practice active listening. 2. Be responsive in gesture and word and think of the other person’s perspective when dealing with them. 3. If you are to handle other people stress and emotions, make sure you also handle yours. 4. People should always speak their minds and not act in a manner that is deceitful or misleading. 5. Provide constructive feedback.

Leaders with high EI are adept at recognizing their own emotions and those of others, which allows them to navigate social complexities and build strong, empathetic relationships. This self-awareness and empathy foster trust and open communication within teams. Additionally, emotionally intelligent leaders can regulate their emotions, staying calm and composed under pressure, which helps in making thoughtful and balanced decisions. They are also skilled at managing conflicts and addressing challenges with a positive and solution-oriented approach.

While there is enormous focus and efforts on hiring the right fit for the job. It’s the responsibility of every leader to demonstrate high level Emotional Intelligence to build trust , confidence and , motivate team members , allowing employees to get a positive culture in the organisation to give them best of their ability.

In my opinion, a good leader is a ??selfless egoist??, meaning a leader who wants to succeed by helping his team members to grow, by sharing his desire to reach higher and further. This leader is not afraid of a team member shining brighter than himself because he is confident in his skills and leadership. With this certainty, this leader strives to make his team shine, to highlight its members, to bring out the best in each individual. Focused on himself, he is focused on others. Succeeding himself means succeeding as a team.

A successful leader needs to take decisive action to guide their team effectively and maintain momentum. Decisive action involves making timely, clear decisions and standing by them. 1. Invite all parties involved and gather all relevant information as quickly as possible. 2. When considering the options they need to assess the benefits and shortcomings of each. 3. Be decisive when the decision needs to be made. 4. Clear communication of the decision made to everyone without the need to involve a lot of fuss. 5. When the decision is made, do not delay its execution. If a project has some hurdles, analyze that situation, revise the timeline, and communicate the changes to the members right away.

A leader needs to know when it's time to make a decision. It must not and sometimes cannot afford to procrastinate. The damage could be greater, when time is lost. They must be able to create or recreate the right atmosphere to make people evolve and give them the opportunity to have the right space to carry out their role within the company.

Integrity is at the core of successful leadership and building great organizations. A Leader must demonstrate highest Integrity at all times, and offer solutions which ensure compliance with applicable requirements, and thus build a strong foundation of a robust long lasting enterprise.

Everyday you have something to learn about. It could be study, it could be job, it could be just life. You have to be enought set on your goal, if you teach it, it is already old field for you, so it is time to go over, to grow a bit, step by step! That is the way I get to improve my performance everyday!

One of the most underrated skillset in leaders is the ability pick the right person for the organization. Great leaders have an eye of good people. And having right people at right place in the organization, is as imperative as having a goal/vision for the organization.

Be kind, be honest, be authentic. If you’re good at what you do (which sadly isn’t always the case in leadership) these qualities make you go from a good leader to ”best leader I ever had was when I worked at…”. People will still be talking about you years later.

Effective communication. Listen and understand what your team is telling you; both verbal and non-verbal. Communicate with your team well.

Be comfortable with being uncomfortable. Accept that you will never be 100% sure so be prepared for make bold and at times unpopular decision’s.

Create more leaders like you—a purpose greater than yourself. Begin by appealing to the hearts and minds of the people you lead. Be humble, be grateful, lead by example, and nurture the leadership qualities of promising juniors. If you get a reputation for developing talent and helping them move on, you will never have to worry about talent because more talented people will want to come join you. Have a belief that there are more potential leaders around the corner, and we just need to raise it.
