I'll add also as "continuous learning" to listen and get feedback from your team too. Sometime really good suggestion or idea can come even from the most junior person in the team so if we park our ego and actively listen we can only benefit in the long run.

In my experience I found helpful the following approach: When joining a new team, -share your professional and family with your team. This humanizes the new “boss”. -take the time to have one-on-one meetings with your team members to learn how they think. -show interest in understanding how the organization and team function prior to your arrival. -Share a path forward plan with your team by adapting positives for the existing approach and setting new goals, approach/plan and lay out clear expectations and vision strategy. -maintain personal contact/interaction with the team and minimize e-mail communications unless necessary to do so. -demonstrate trust and empowerment for your team. -provide constructive and professional feedback.
