Deadline is a word which creates a perception of fear. Instead communicate the priorities with the associated risks of not making it happen and the incentives of the priority being met. As an education leader, focus on the learner’s future is the highest priority. Everything else can wait.

To effectively track and manage deadlines as an Educational Leader, use project management tools and set clear milestones. For example, if implementing a new digital learning initiative in a K-12 school, use a platform like Trello or Asana to create a timeline with specific deadlines for training, rollout, and feedback. Regularly review progress and adjust plans as needed to stay on track and ensure successful implementation.

Being successful as a leader involves working together as a team to provide solutions. Understanding when you need help and asking for it, shows strength as a leader and not weakness. I have asked for help multiple times when I could not completed work to the quality and time desired. I made key hires at critical times. People that we hire have a passion to help each other be the best they can be. This includes any level of positions including leadership. Asking for help shows your transparently and authenticity as a leader. ??

Stealing from Brene Brown, the most effective thing I’ve implemented is “painting done”. I spend a great deal of time at the beginning communicating what the finished product or process should entail and the level of quality it should be. I save space for questions and iteration at the onset. I’ve found that the clearer I’ve been at the start, the more successful the project has gone.
