I am a fan of one quote that states "You have to risk criticism for the applause" here referring that you should gather feedback even if they are critics as they help you re-analyze, re-examine and re-shape your aims. Objectives are your key points that you use when presenting. So, if they're not apparent during the evaluation, then I don't think the public speaking engagement was successful. I believe that the goal and objectives, at least on an elementary level, should be known without the person doing the presentation stating them directly for review.
