There are many types of UX metrics, such as Time on task, Error rate, task completion rate, Task Success Rate, System usability Scale (SUS), Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) and conversion rate and Churn rate to mention a few. It is important to set goals and what you what to achieve before starting to measure any metrics. To select the right metrics, it is helpful to use goals–signals–metrics process (Google, c.2023c) that is a structured framework to identify which metric are most useful for your organisation and product to measure.

User feedback serves as a valuable source of qualitative data for evaluating UX initiatives. Collecting feedback through surveys, interviews, and usability tests helps identify user pain points, preferences, and areas for improvement. Leveraging user feedback enables continuous refinement of UX strategies.

User feedback is vital for designing a product that users find desirable, easy to use, and to provide the users with a tool that is valuable for them and gets the job done. It is important to get both qualitative and quantitative user feedback, from at least three different sources. Qualitative user feedback informs you on why, how and quantitative data informs you of how many, how much and how often.
