What problems did life throw at you. How dit it make you feel? And how did you work through it? For some reflecting is easier than for others ;-). Start by writing down relevant experiences that you feel have defined you. Just let the pen do the work. Write as if someone else is reading your book. Then read it back. What patterns do you see? Invite somebody else to read it and see what patterns they find.

I run a sesison with the team where we all contributed to creating a pledge or commitment. This sets out how we'll behave and act with each other as a team unit and with our stakeholders. The sense of the team creating this pledge then gives them the ownership to act it out and live by it. We then run regular retros where the team are involved in solving our recurring and new problems and then they're responsible for delivering the outcome, giving a sense of ownership.

All the most important messages have to be applied top down and bottom up. Leadership needs to lead from the front, be seen taking accountability. The most junior person should be able to hold the most senior one accountable when standards are not followed.
