I have ALWAYS been a very hard worker. Come early, stay late, work weekends, help coworkers and developed a personal relationship with not only clients but with outside professional associates as well (IT, Banks and Corporate associates). However, despite my best efforts and tenacity. I have NEVER been promoted or had a salary increase due to ANY of it. Maybe it's because I'm female, maybe it's because I'm African American, maybe it's just my lot in life. I just don't know. I give feedback on implementation of work procedures, ask all the important questions about new programs, train interns and work out the kinks. Often I am overwhelmed and on a tight schedule. I do not have time to "schmooze" or engage in small talk/personal story time.
