There is no way to achieve a deadline if the expectations are not clear. To make that happen a few questions must be answered prior to start: What is the problem to be solved? Do we have complete acknowledgment of the problem? Are we aware of the expected user journey? Can we describe our problem understanding (problem acknowledge and user journey) in requirements? Can you breakdown the requirements in specific tasks with proper acceptance criteria and mapped dependencies? Can you have task estimations (at least in a high level)? Those questions are not a solo journey, they must be answered by the team, of course no need to involve all members. But having them being part of the problem understanding more chances you have to succeed.
