Amen to the both of you with your comments. I can’t tell you how many times I have said this to some of my leaders. I pride myself engaging emotionally with my team. If I don’t care about the individual how could they trust I care about their success. If it is always about their deliverables you’ll never get full engagement or loyalty.

This where the question posed identifies the trap that many leaders fall into! It is not YOUR vision, goals and mission! It needs to be framed and arise from all stakeholders as OURs. Hence communication of outcomes of the work to build these pillars needs to include where they came from, who participated, the process for their development, and most importantly, the process going forward to refine them and operationalize them. Celebrate! Pillar development is hard work but listening to the environment and stakeholders paves the way!
