For instance, if someone tells you that your work needs to be "more dynamic," ask what specific elements could bring that dynamism or if there are examples of the level of energy they're looking for.

I believe that part of the feedback (and even the feed-foward) process is backed up by our own proactiveness to seek open dialogue with peers, leaders and stakeholders, but also knowing to read the context in which they are embedded. Of course, everything is information when you also link it with your self-knowledge evolutionary journey, but are they giving it from a place of empathy and real intention to help you succeed? Or from their own context without looking at the support and benefit it should provide? Feeling it also helps you balance the reality behind the words as clarity doesn’t always come from what’s said out loud. We can always ask, but we don’t always get it! Work on it with your emotional intelligence too…

Once you have more information, take time to reflect deeply on the feedback . Consider how it aligns with your self-perceptions and your goals. Being honest with yourself is the key to analysing and understanding vague or lacking feedback. From personal experience, I can say that we often don't see our own mistakes when evaluating feedback. This is especially crucial when vague or insufficient feedback is shared with you unexpectedly. Take a step back, wait a day to let the feedback sink in, and try to evaluate why the person shared such feedback and what your actions were that led to it. Think from a third-person point of view to get to the bottom of this. This will help you take concrete actions and grow as an individual.

After reflection, create an action plan . This should include concrete steps you can take to address the feedback. If the feedback was about a lack of a certain skill, identify resources or training that could help you develop in that area. If it was about the quality of your work, consider ways to enhance your processes or seek mentorship. Document your plan and set milestones to track your progress.
