The first thing that comes to mind is silence can show confidence and command. I have found, if you are talking too much during an interview, you are losing. Make your answers short and concise and yes, after you answer, just be quiet. Make sure you build rapport in the interview by asking good questions of the interviewer. "Why did you chose (said company)? "What are the best things about the company?" "What are the most challenging?" I once heard a candidate ask the panel that was interviewing him, "What is your 5 year plan?" They loved him and wanted to hire him right on the spot. No one had ever asked such a question. He was bold and it paid off!

Stories are the pinnacle to understanding the goals and motivations of others. While creating relevance and alignments, stories must tell a "movie" not a "picture". Story telling during an interview sets the t one as to how the future of a partnership will go as well as telling previous experiences and how those were handled. A saying that I do not always like, but does have a lot of value is, "Data tells, stories sell." The idea is that bringing people along a journey of understanding via a story. Confidence shouldn't be underestimated, if you believe you can, or believe you can't, you're probably right. Employers want to back someone with a positive growth mindset. Be clear on your value, and how you can have a positive impact. This will increase your confidence and give you a head start in your interview

Try to avoid company BINGO! Research is a great way to give you insight into the language and mindset of the culture of the company. But just dropping the words in like a bingo game holds no value to the interview. Understanding the culture and taking a positive approach to tailor your examples and stories to align with the culture will be advantageous. You can't change your values just for an interview, so attempting to align your examples will prompt you to know if this is the right place for you. If you find it too hard to align, then your search for a new job continues!

The best leaders and the most influential persons always ask lots of questions. This is a skill that I am regularly reminded I need development in. There is SO much value in being able to ask good questions and I am not NEARLY as good at it, as I would like. It is next to impossible to convince someone to do what YOU want. It is relatively easy to get them to get them to do what THEY want.
