In my experience I’ve found that listeners like to hear genuine tips on the writing process. As writers something we come to believe as simple or mundane may be groundbreaking information for someone else. You never know what someone else may find as inspirational. Don’t hesitate to share all the small details in regards to your writing process.

Yes, sometimes I ask for feedback from friends and family but I also seek out critics in the industry who may or may not know me well. Sometimes friends and family may hold back in hopes of not hurting your feelings. After receiving feedback I attempt to accept, apply and grow.
