If you especially have an issue with the latter then writing isn't necessarily for you as a great writer is an even greater reader.

Actually, I disagree with the last point made above. While passion for writing is important, not everyone enjoys spending hours perfecting a piece of text. Many writers might prefer to use that time gathering inspiration for new works.
