Here's how you can cultivate collaboration and camaraderie in remote teams.

I lead Riskonnect's Global Social Media program (a fully remote project team) -- here's some of my favorite ways to get my team to snychonize: #1 Have regular virtual touch-base times for the team #2 Always use a project management tool so that everyone can be on the same page with project expectations, deadlines, deliverables, etc. #3 Take time to ask colleagues how they are doing. Effective teams have mutual trust -- that often comes with time, but making trust a priority makes a lasting impact. #4 Deliver positive feedback where it's due, when it's due. Tell people when they're doing a great job. #5 Always have an open door policy, even as the leader of a remote team to facilitate effective communication.

Remote teams by there very nature rely on technology to bridge social gaps. I'd definitely look to create groups in MS Teams/ Slack or whatever you use for team collaboration and then set up some gamification around being active on social. There are plenty of employee advocacy platforms out there which allow you to create content that can be shared, and engaged with by remote teams. By doing this, you'll be able to foster a collaborative environment. That said, you need to make it EASY for employees to find and share content, so try to remove friction by integrating whichever platform you use with your internal comms system

Or have other fun competition: summer playlist - the song with the most votes gets half a day off etc. It doesn't need to be something complicated, the easier the better. Have fun and share laughter, this will boost productivity and motivation (not only for remote team).
