Creating a positive and inclusive team culture in public speaking begins with genuine connection. As a team leader, I start by listening actively to each member's ideas and concerns, valuing their unique perspectives. Encourage collaboration through regular, open discussions, and celebrate every small success. Promote a growth mindset by providing constructive feedback and opportunities for skill development. Inclusivity thrives on mutual respect and shared goals.

I've led dozens of workshops, and the key is ensuring everyone's voice is heard. Depending on the group size, I mix it up: open floor discussions, breakout sessions, or even written feedback. The goal is to foster a space where everyone feels comfortable sharing their thoughts, whether they're a seasoned speaker or just starting out. Remember, diversity of perspectives enriches the learning experience for everyone.

Best way to lead by example? Especially if you are something like a public speaking coach? Always try to imagine the person that would have the hardest time with public speaking. The stutterer, the fidgeter, the shy, nervous person, whoever. And then try to design your program so that even those people feel welcome and not intimidated. That way, they will ALWAYS feel welcome and included. And everyone else will feel that you are someone who can work with anyone. A rising tide lifts all boats, as the saying goes. It's the Feynman Learning Technique, adapted to public speaking.

Creating a positive and inclusive team culture as a team leader in public speaking involves leading by example. As a public speaking coach who has worked with multiple speakers at live events my job is to show respect, empathy, and listen actively in all interactions. I share my own experiences and vulnerabilities to build trust and openness. I work to build confidence and a calm demeanor amongst the speakers, by giving constructive feedback and offering support. Through these actions i work towards building inclusivity and positivity, amongst every group of speakers who i work with.

It is crucial to understand, that your voice, "your opinion", is one of the most powerful weapon in the world. Mere words brought democracy into action in many parts of the world. Current as a coordinator for a non-profit in Chicago, we host monthly meetings, and I try to create a space for each individual to share a thought from their life, just to encourage them to take the challenge to speak on a particular topic of their desire. It boosts the confidence in them and also in yourself. Get to know them on a deeper level and grow as a community together.

To be a successful leader ,you must give credit to your every member ,wether he is directly involved or indirectly involve.praise them always,saying thanks for your efforts to make mission successful.

A positive & inclusive team culture can only SUBSIST when the team leader shows GENUINE CARE, CONCERN & LOVE for the team. You must WALK THE TALK. You don't have to tell them so because your actions will speak louder than words. In the world of public speaking, the team automatically covers for each other in times of emergency so that nothing falls through the cracks. The speech has to be delivered to meet its objectives, come what may. For e.g. when someone falls ill, the rest will automatically "hold the fort" temporarily. Show genuine concern when team members struggle with work. Coach & guide them. Mentor them so they know how to choose the right path. Where mistakes are made, don't condemn them. Instead, show them how to do it better.
