Make sure you’re on top of these and plug them and keep yourself current. - Use tech (e.g AI) to help you be more informed and productive (but it should never replace you/your “voice”) - find ways to increase visibility (e.g LinkedIn posts, your work on GitHub, industry/networking events) If you’ve been a passive job seeker, then it’s time to…innovate!

It is impossible to make a good career decision when one knows nothing about industry and the changes coming with 4IR technology. Work will look very different within the next 10 years and people are not prepared for these changes. In order to be prepared for the future, creating a career strategy is key. That means taking time to know yourself and to understand industry. Identifying which problems you want to help industry solve will help you narrow down your choices and give you more clarity on your career path. A career strategy saves us time and increases engagement over the years.

Mindset and how much we believe in ourselves plays a huge part in career advancement goals. If you simply don't believe you are good enough your thoughts will sabotage your actions to get that promotion for example. Adopting a growth and positive mindset with a belief that, okay I may not know how to do this yet, but I can research what I need to learn and then commit to learning with help and support from people around me. Mindset is crucial when it comes to achieving any success.
