While all of this information is fantastic, I would add a critical element to Change Management and getting teams to best adopt change. Start by focusing on what doesn’t change before discussing any of the changes. Our first reaction to change is to reject it because we believe the change will touch some our sacred elephants or such. As an example, if you are introducing a new work management program, first talk about how there is no change in positions, pay, benefits or how we would perform the majority of our work. Then you can focus on the small specific changes. I’ve lead numerous company wide changes that impact all elements of the business including culture and this small technique has helped immensely!

I would also add another implementation option. Try working with a select few team members in a beta program for the new system. With rolling out multiple different management or operational systems in various companies, I have seen this to be a successful model. This allows you to test the system for your specific needs. It also adds members at all levels of the company as champions for the system if it is chosen to be implemented throughout the company once the beta test is completed. Just turning on the switch and telling everyone to get on board with a sink or swim mindset has not ending with positive results. I have experienced this method and it has created major chaos and exodus of team members.

"Fear of the Unknown" is often the reason a technology or system are often rejected or not adapted at all. How do one conquer this fear. Take one step at a time. Gather all the information of the product, technology or System. Analyse them, take notes and most importantly read all the comments published by other users. List down all the positive information and negative as well plus all the DO and DON'Ts of it. This will provide a better perspective. One may also consider SWOT analysis or the usage of other tools for decision making. If you decide to adapt to the technology, ask as much questions as you can to erase any doubts. Do ask the people competent with it any not anyone on the street as they may add on more fear.

In certain positions leading by example shall work like charm. Being the devil advocate for the change, being the challenging voice for the change. Showcase the changes benefits and return on every individual creating buy-in for everyone in the team
