It is important to list your to do’s as per priority. By allocating specific time and aiming to finish within that allocated time is a key to success and self motivation to put more positive effort.

After setting your goals (around 3 at any one time), start with the easier one, less time consuming item. Estimate the time to complete this. Achieving small tasks within a set time, gives a sense of accomplishment. It is a good idea to start something when you are feeling motivated.

From my perspective, the prioritization of tasks depends largely on the prioritization of bigger projects to which these tasks belong. We use RICE to prioritize projects in the backlog. In particular, we evaluate Reach, i.e., how many students are potentially affected by the change; Impact, i.e., to what extent it is expected to increase our key metrics; Confidence, i.e., whether prior research/industry best practice/our own research provides support for the project; and Effort, i.e., how many sprints/teams are needed to complete the project. Then, I start with the tasks related to projects with higher RICE. ? But other standard prioritization frameworks (Eisenhower, ABCDE, MoSCoW) also work, you may choose your preferred one!

Assume there is always going to be some change or issue and just keep working through them all until there is nothing left.

For instance, Notion is the best tool to keep all your tasks and their deadlines in a proper order. With the help of these tools, motivate yourself to cover deadlines with the time frame and if you aren't able to do so, put in a little extra achieve them. Make sure to have a reward system to encourage yourself for completing tasks on time :)

There is a saying to be said for having the right tools for the job. I recently worked in an environment where admin were using 'Word' for a newsletter that was heavy on the images. The file kept crashing, stalling and freezing. Expanding your experience and trying new technology to be more efficient not only can reduce your workload but expand your skill set. There is generally an easier way to do things, and it could be as simple as using the right program/tool for the task.

Tell and retell the story of what happened and how it happened... reflection is an eye opener and makes goals more immediate to the team.

I believe it is crucial to hold a debrief after a project and reflect on your processes and work habits that helped you achieve the desired result or prevented you from it. In particular, you could ask yourself what you tried, what you thought would happen, what really happened, what you learned, and what you’ll do next based on that. For example, answering these questions you could realize that you spent too much time researching the problem before developing an MVP of the solution, you thought it’d help you come up with a better solution, but in reality, you missed the deadline because of it. Then, you could reflect on your lessons and next steps.

As an ex teacher librarian, this is something I do everyday. What when well, What didn't (why), How can I do that better, Where can I go from here, What is my next challenge, Why was that so successful, What did I do differently? The list literally goes on, and on. Using this information drives my next set of goals and identifies both my strengths and weaknesses.
