It’s important to remember that networking is about developing relationships with other professionals for mutual benefit and therefore should be looked at as a long-term commitment of time and effort to experience results. It’s also important to remember that networking is a two-way street: it’s about giving as much as it’s about receiving. Finally, it’s ideal to interact in person as much as is possible though virtual events can go a long way to help strengthen bonds formed and established.

Networking & connecting with other accountants by having professional chat groups via social media such as LinkedIn, WhatsApp, WeChat etc is handy to have to receive & contribute updates, sharing of information, ideas & experiences with one another. This helps to foster close connections & boosting of confidence towards one another. Joining professional groups & attending seminars as well as accounting conferences will add new contacts to the chat group. Getting involved in Corporate Social Responsibility activities provides opportunities to meet & greet new contacts to the group as well.
