A negative mindset in almost anything is not going to help. Whenever a rejection or criticism is experienced, at least balancing your thoughts processes will help you to learn. You can learn from valid criticism, what to do better, but by seeing potential positives in such feedback you can often discover new ideas or confirmation that your original thoughts were actually accurate in the first place. It has worked for me so many times. I remember stumping somebody completely once, when I answered very personal criticism with my own feedback “I thought you were great actually, but then again perhaps we are both wrong!”

Everything is in your mindset!! If you are going out to find new clients via networking, remember that everyone else in the room may be doing the same. It will help you massively if you go with the right mindset. And that starts with building that KNOW, LIKE and TRUST. If you need reminding of it, just think, would you give someone you don't like your hard earned money, no! And your prospects are the same. Build that KNOW, LIKE and TRUST and it will come to you over time. Think of farming rather than hunting. The book Go For Know a read, authored by Richard Fenton & Andrea Waltz may help you. Lastly if you find yourself in that overwhelming negative mindset remember that when you are looking for gold you need to wade through a lot of s#!￡

When receiving feedback, I make it a point to actively listen, determine any actions on my part that may have caused the negative feedback, and approach the situation with empathy to foster a positive outcome.
