I'm a big fan of journal entries. It is challenging and expensive to take unique and complex processes in order-to-cash and procure-to-pay cycles and mold your ERP to do it. Can you implement a manual solution first? What's a SERIES of steps to automate, as opposed to trying to automate a process big-bang? I find incrementally building and testing via a series of steps is far more efficient than creating hairball customizations (that often do not live for more than 5 years).
