Found this out about three decades ago. Get the newest software for your company at least every other year if possible to keep abreast of what is happening and how you can adopt to the new ways of navigating the changes.

Updating skills is always a plus! Even if your in your 50s you still have 17 more years until retirement so you might as well finish your half-done degrees or invest in a short-term training program. Remember, you are never too old to complete your degree or program. I’ve had friends ask me, “Julie, am I too old to go back to school?” The answer is no! You are never too old to learn a new skill and add value to yourself as an employee! ??????

In my experiences courses enhance your expertise I’ve done admin assistant for 16+ years with no courses under my belt. On the job learning I feel is best way to learn your skill set. I will go back to studies probably sooner than later depending on things.
