From personal experience, I continually seek to validate architecture by soliciting feedback from the team - what have I missed, are there other approaches to consider? We can develop our own styles and preferences (biases) which are not necessarily the correct approach so leverage the people around you and listen to other perspectives to validate your thinking. Sketchpad sessions (peer reviews) are also a good and safe mechanisms to solicit feedback and avoid costly mistakes. Also think about designing with adaptability and extensibility in mind. How can you ensure the data services can be adapted to meet future (and yet unknown) business needs?
