Soy de la opinión de que cuando llegas a un nuevo equipo técnico de redes, no puedes ser objetivo hasta pasado un tiempo necesario que te permita conocer la red. Lo primero como se comenta es ser un experto en redes, después sentarse con los expertos técnicos de tu equipo y junto a ellos visitar los detalles de la arquitectura de red para entenderla. Las redes hay que comprenderlas no solo ver un esquema. A partir de tener una base solida de conocimiento sobre la red, es necesario conocer los objetivos del negocio, ?que se espera de la red (capacidad, resiliencia, seguridad, automatización,...)? Todo eso permitirá identificar las deficiencias y necesidades de la red, y con eso podrás liderar a tu equipo.

Muchas veces un responsable de un equipo técnico debe de hacer de interfaz entre el equipo técnico y el de negocio. Por ello el discurso hacía negocio tiene que ser en un lenguaje que puedan entender con claridad. La información debe seguir siendo precisa, plantear riesgos, beneficios, problemas de forma precisa, pero comprensible. Una incidencia en un punto de la red, reportada por el equipo técnico, debe traducirse para negocio en una pérdida de la disponibilidad en la aplicación de negocio. Nunca se debe reportar a negocio un problema técnico, ya que provocará desalineamiento por falta de comprensión.
