In my personal experience, effective communication is crucial not only with your boss but with any team member. Better communication leads to better collaboration, which in turn makes any project or professional task successful. Every person, including the boss, will have a preferred way of communicating, whether it be calls, emails, chat messages or face-to-face meetings. For convenience sake, use the same mode of communication they are comfortable with. Always be genuine, maintain your authenticity, and respect their time, as the boss may be busy and unable to communicate right away. Regular reminders to the boss can also be helpful.

In my experience, a lot of us forget that our bosses, whether we like them or loathe them at times, are humans. Learn how they want to be reached, just as they should learn how you want to be reached. Bring contentious topics to them with a 'we' perspective, rather than a 'me' perspective. And, if you really need to seek answers and clarity, get to those points directly, but kindly. Be authentic. Be genuine. Be knowledgable and aware about how you work best.

Tener ese reconocimiento permite que una conversación tenga fluidez y se llegue a un resultado exitoso.

Effective communication is a big gap in most of the teams especially those in Asia! Reason being our upbringing where we are not taught how to highlight issues, disagree respectfully and voice out opinion. This is a very important, and the team will fail if it is not done the team will fail. It starts with having reassurance with your team members for open communication and walking the talk. Every team member must be given access to voice their opinion with facts. And if the fact is sensible it has to be acted on immediately so that trust grows in the team.

Con una planeación de la conversación, en el momento de verdad todo surgirá de manera efectiva porque vas directo a la respuesta o mensaje que quieres recibir de parte de tu interlocutor, en este caso el Líder.

Sin duda, una conversación siempre será trascendental si se fundamenta en "datos y hechos". Con esto será más fácil crear un espacio de co versación de valor, donde seguramente el propósito estará marcado por una toma de decisiones coherente y 100% fundamentada y con argumentos que soporten el resultado final de la conversación.

El término retroalimentacion o feedback está pronto a desaparecer, algunos autores han propuesto reemplazar este método por algo más amigable y que no genere tanto temor y han propuesto el "feedforward", que rescata la escencia del feedback pero busca especialmente "anticipar posibles problemas, identificar oportunidades y recibir orientación o recomendaciones antes de que ocurra una situación específica".

Bosses love follow up and follow thru as they are very busy. The follow up shows commitment and character. It will always be remembered. Show your commitment with the detailed follow up and closure.
