Delegation is really key. In my earlier days managing teams I used to hang on to the trickier things thinking only I had the best experience to tackle them, but when necessity forced me to delegate tasks to colleagues during a handover period when I was moving on I realised I'd been wrong and had under estimated what they could do. Don't under estimate what your team is capable of! They can do amazing things with just a bit of guidance and you will achieve a high performing team with greater job satisfaction and a fairly distributed workload!

As they say, “Teamwork makes the dreamwork.” Efficiently delegating tasks does wonders not just for an individual but for the team: 1. It frees up more time for an individual to focus on tasks beyond their current purview/ budget time for more creative and strategic thinking 2. The team is given an opportunity to learn new things, develop new skills and contribute to the larger goal in many more ways than one— hence an opportunity for them to shine in their own might 3. Delegation if done right demonstrates a sense of trust and confidence in your team and that you as a leader can nurture collective aspirations It, hence, makes you hone your skills to move up the ladder by taking more tasks and letting your team grow in the process.

Nurturing talent is key. I always empower my team to challenge themselves and take on new tasks. Experimenting is good, and failure is ok, just learn from it. Delegating and advising your team helps you as a manager and leader and makes your team appreciate and trust you more. You should want to see people on your team succeed and grow.
