Well, here's the deal - in most studios there are salary bands and once you hit that ceiling, you're likely to hit a pay ceiling too. One way to break this barrier is to start supervising others, acting as a force multiplier, helping other animators become better at their craft. This means stepping away from the box, taking on lesser shots to allow those on your team more meaty ones where they can shine and show off their developing skills (under your guidance, mentoring and leadership). Get used to living in reflective light, it's your new happy place.

Get used to high frame counts, because Seniors generally move preeetttty slow. Of course, there are outliers here and there, the spry Jack LaLanes of the world, or some of those slim & trim yogis on mountain summits, but high frame count, subtle movements, and… wrinkles. Gotta model those well earned lines. Smiling lines are the best ones, grumpy lines, a close 2nd. Don’t just texture paint them in. Have some freakin’ respect for yer Elders whippersnapper! Tapestry of life right there. Though high school seniors technically count, that’s pretty much biz as usual. So zip-pop away nerds. I’m talking about the real stuff. Genuine article, jam on wheat toast, cupboard cans from 1940 seniors, who all tend to tell you, “Don’t feed the AI sonny!”
