I have found that the best way to illustrate the power of GIS in my field of Market Research, is to use an Excel sheet with the answers of thousands of interviews across the country, and use data visualization through thematic mapping. Any hot spots, geographical trends or points of concern will be identified immediately, compared to tedious hours of working through rows and rows of data!

In my experience, expertise in specific fields often leads to reluctance to adopt new technologies. Even from an academic perspective, professors and lecturers frequently prefer traditional methods, such as hand-drawn mapping, especially in urban planning-related projects. Adopting new technology can also prevent obsolescence. If some new format proves to preserve the quality of satellite images better than "shapefile" format then you can explain how your organization/company would benefit from investing in technology that'll allow you to save and export your projects in that new format.

Essa ado??o deve ser permanente, afinal de contas, a cidade n?o para de crescer e implantar essa tecnologia, irá resolver problemas atuais, melhorando a eficiência dos servi?os e fornecendo uma vantagem competitiva. Ao focar nos resultados tangíveis e na mitiga??o de riscos, fica claro que os benefícios superam os custos ou riscos percebidos, justificando o investimento.

Los cambios progresivos no sorpresivos son mejores. Por lo tanto es importante contar con un plan bien estructurado. Nosotros que nos encontramos dentro de la organización entendemos como funciona el negocio, cuáles son los flujos de trabajo actuales, sistemas, personas y procesos involucrados. Con base en esto se puede identificar el estado futuro utilizando los SIG, ser capaces de mostrar como se enfrentarán los desafíos con este sistema, resultados de negocio positivos y sustentabilidad del negocio comparado con el estado actual. Aquí ya se verían involucradas las buenas prácticas para construir una planeación efectiva.

Por ejemplo un posible obstáculo pueden ser las capacidades de fuerza de trabajo, que en un principio no se tenga a un equipo dedicado a SIG o que tenga conocimientos profundos en esta tecnología dentro de la organización, sin embargo, es un desafío que se puede abordar. No sería óptimo iniciar sesiones de capacitación sin antes identificar las personas dentro de la organización que serían los primeros "adaptadores del cambio" o que por sus conocimientos y habilidades puede que sepan o no de SIG pero están dispuestos a conformar ese equipo dedicado a este tema, lo que ajustará de mejor forma la curva de aprendizaje e influenciará el cambio en las demás personas dentro de la organización.

Vou destacar aqui um passo muito importante que é saber identificar as necessidades, recursos e objetivos. Entendendo isso, é fundamental designar uma equipe multidisciplinar que será responsável por essa implementa??o do GIS e incluir representantes de diferentes departamentos para garantir uma abordagem integrada. A participa??o de todos irá nortear melhor as prioridades a serem seguidas.

Existem prefeituras que tiveram um aumento significativo de arrecada??o sobrepondo uma planta de loteamento com uma imagem aérea de alta resolu??o. Essa sobreposi??o detectou diversas áreas construídas n?o registradas nos sistemas da prefeitura, dessa forma o contribuinte foi notificado e sua situa??o foi regularizada, com isso os valores que envolvem cálculos de IPTU também foram atualizados.

Incluso compartir esas historias de éxito puede ir más allá de una presentación y conversación del negocio y los resultados alcanzados por otras organizaciones usando SIG, que son casos de éxito. En mi experiencia existe una gran ventaja involucrarse en el medio en donde esas organizaciones ya han logrado resultados positivos y de la cual se quiere seguir los pasos o por lo menos partir de allí. Entonces intentamos participar en eventos que involucren estos temas, participar en mesas de trabajo gracias a diferentes alianzas con organizaciones que poco a poco nos lleva a estar rodeados de eso que se quiere construir y ejecutar.
