I firmly believe there's no such thing as a work-life balance. But can harmony between both be achieved? Yes! How? By setting boundaries. Work and life are separate worlds. Don't let them both collide. That might mean being firm with work calls. That might mean working without distractions. Setting boundaries helps you prioritise both without neglecting any of them.

In our business there is no such thing as work life balance. Especially when you start out. if you are looking for it then I highly recommend another industry

In a 24 hour day 1/2 or more of your waking hours are at work! So" Work Life" balance is real, so how do you want to spend the majority of your life on this earth? As simply as I can figure finding something that fulfills you at work carries over to fulfillment in life and vice-versa. I love what I do! My career has brought me happiness, self-esteem, friendships, challenge that lead to achievements and much more. This then spills over to my home life and family time. When you are happy and enthusiastic it does not turn off when you head home. The same is for the home life. If you are happy and content there your work life reflects it. There are no magic rules. It is mindset you must embrace, " Don't Worry, Be Happy" It's up to you!

Achieving work-life balance isn't just a goal—it's a strategy for sustained success. Here's a simple framework: Prioritize Ruthlessly: Your time is your most valuable asset. Identify the tasks that offer the highest return—focus there. Delegate Effectively: You can't do it all. Build a team that you trust and that complements your skills so you can delegate. Set Boundaries: Establish clear work hours. Your clients will respect your time more if you respect it first. Recharge Regularly: Never underestimate the power of a break. Regular downtime enhances creativity and endurance. Balance isn't about less work—it's about better work. Prioritize, delegate, set boundaries, and recharge. Master these, and you master the game.

I was deeply saddened to learn from a survey that I read, about the time spent between parents and children in the US. It said that parents spend only an average of 5-20 minutes with their children each day. I understand that in countries like ours, where majority of the workers in our CBD's come from commuting a tedious 1-2 hrs each way, to and from work, another 9 hours minimum is alloted for work. The rest, I suppose is spent on some overtime and just plain exhaustion. This is a painful reality a lot of people share. All I can say is, whatever time you do have left with your loved ones, please make it count. Our children's and families cultures and characters are defined by the quality of time we give them. Be patient. Be kind.

To maintain work-life harmony, You should manage your time well. To manage your time well, You have to prioritise tasks. - Categorize which tasks are necessary (and which are not to save time) - Note down your to-dos daily (To better track and complete them) - Do only necessary tasks (Delegate if necessary) Listing priorities is the best way to manage time and maintain harmony.

Delegation is important but too often we see delegation done without proper consideration as to whom is the most appropriate team member to provide the service, and importantly, the time that must be taken by the team leader to review the work done to ensure that the service meets the need of the client and rises to quality and accuracy standards.

In my experience, you cannot optimize success in your career or with your family if you do not place your physical and mental health first. I get my workout in first thing in the morning then I leave some time for quiet reflection before I eat breakfast. Then it’s off to the races until dinner time with my family and if there’s additional work to be done, I do that after everyone else has gone to bed. Establish a routine,set and stick to your boundaries, the more consistent you are the more consistent your result will become.

It's important to note that you can give back only from a cup that is at least semi-full. If you're constantly on the go with strict deadlines and targets, its imperative to focus on your health. High stress levels and demanding negotiations can take a lot out from a professional but actively unwinding can help. A regular routine of working out and eating clean isn't talked about enough. You can't build a legacy propped up on caffeine, it is slow, steady, hard work with rest stops and self-appreciation sprinkled in regularly.

If they know that occasionally there might be urgent things you need to take care of for a little while, and that it is a for a greater good and everyone's well-being, it will be a lot easier for them not feel neglected or overlooked.
