Importante la elaboración de contratos, debemos evitar dejar descripciones de trabajos muy abiertas, no definir alcances, etc, es importante siempre definir limites de tiempo y circunstancias que están fuera de nuestro alcance, en mi experiencia puedo decir que una planificacion siempre esta basada en el escenario mas optimista sin embargo en raras ocaciones se logra realizar, no digo que sea imposible pero en campo ya ejecutando el proyecto, puede pasar cualquier cosa que atrase lo planificado, en lo personal prefiero sacrificar tiempo Vrs riesgo un proyecto exitoso no es solo entregarlo en tiempo y calidad sino también entregarlo con cero fatalidades el poder darle las gracias a todo el equipo al finalizar es una gran satisfacción

I think it's true that if you fail to plan then you plan to fail. However I think planning can never be thorough enough and have a plan and revise and detail them before you reach the stage within the timeframe. Unfortunately a lot of projects in reality have a non negotiable deadline to go live therefore planning backwards to see how you can finish then accordingly helps.

Es importante contar con un despiece o en su defecto tener bien puntualizados los alcances ya sea de tu proyecto o cotizacion presentada, considerar los tiempos de entrega, mano de obra, traslados incluyendo los costos unitarios y cronograma de proyecto especificando cada parte del poyecto y delegando las responsabilidades necesarias para poder llevar a cabo una buena ejecucion optimizando tiempos y recursos pero incrementando la calidad.

As part of the Planning process: a) Revisit the Business objectives of the project and get the stakeholders buy-in. It is also important to understand the sensitivity of the stakeholders towards the range of success criteria. b) Then document the cost, schedule, safety and performance goals. c) Additional engagement with the Manufacturing leadership to understand the challenges, constraints and opportunities during the life of this project. This proactive approach allows you to stay on track even when unexpected events occur, minimizing disruptions to your schedule and budget.

Monitor Religiously: As in any project, monitoring and anticipating the disruptions and changes ahead helps in mitigating most of the setbacks. Coordinating and also ensuring sufficient float for known and unknow interruptions (like planned outages and weather events). Monitoring the quality of the work is also another key aspect. Quality of engineering; Quality of Contractors directly reflects on all aspects of project construction. Utilize project management tools to track every aspect, from resource allocation to milestone achievements. Do not commit to a project start, if all the elements/inputs to determine schedule certainty are not available.
