It's better to reschedule than go in to a interview unfit. I had a 2nd or 3rd round interview while my daughter had pneumonia and I was in and out of the hospital and utterly exhausted and worn out. The interview was a disaster and I didn't get the offer. I should have contacted them explained that a personal matter meant I would need to reschedule for the next week and apologised for any inconvenience.

Don’t make the mistake to embellish your resume - in 99% of the cases it will show. Even if you make it past the initial screening which often is less technical, you most likely end up wasting everyone’s time when you can’t show in-depth knowledge of the claims on your resume. For example, I’ve come across quite a few candidates with “profound coding skills in <some coding language>” only to discover in the interview that not even the basics are there. Put your unique skills and abilities in your resume authentically - don’t use an AI to generate it. In my experience, although you might increase your chances of scoring an interview, that initial satisfaction will in most cases go south rather quickly. Better: take a course fix any gaps.

Save this challenge, and as you find solutions for more straightforward problems, return to it periodically, taking a real crack at it each time, using all the new skills you've developed. You'll gradually see yourself getting closer to reaching your goal, researching information relevant to the problem, and motivating yourself by being able to see your progression physically. Two fundamental daily challenges will help you learn to break things down into tiny steps and help expand your understanding of algorithms (and their efficiency.)

Make sure your IDE of choice is functioning and ready to use on the computer you will be using for the interview. Some Practice sites allow you to copy sections out into your own IDE to work on the problem and then paste them back in. Being comfortable doing online practice problems will help ease the already stressful environment that is interviews. There are many sites out there that offer free sets of example problems.

If you keep quiet, there's no way for them to know if you're lost. When explaining your solution make sure to state assumptions and demonstrate a dry run of the code with test data. Before the big day, do a final review of the key information listed in the Job Description, but do not overdo it. You will want to keep your mind sharp. You can get anything you need technically ready the day before (audio/video/lighting/...) and do it on the platform you will be interviewed on (Zoom, Google, Teams, Chime) to ensure all your settings are the way you want them, this will also give you time to get a replacement piece of tech if something isn't working properly. This will help provide peace of mind that, technically, you are set to go for the interview. Please do not experiment with any new foods before your interview, as it may lead to unneeded stomach distractions.
