I'd say when prototyping to stay low fidelity for as long as you can. This allows you to pivot focus quickly if you find yourself needing to adjust strategies. Bring in the experts from other teams to help solve the problem/setback. They will provide necessary feedback and solutions that might be outside of your working skillset. Break the problem down into small pieces in order to solve quickly and test outcomes. This agility will allow you to gather critical data on your iterations. Learning from failures this early in the product development will make your product stronger in the long run.
