If the developer feels “left out” from the ux process, then there is a clear gap in the process. We talk about co-creating with users, but often forget to co-create with the developers. Encouragement to bring their ideas to the solution can be their little signature to the experience. No advocacy, celebrate each other’s contributions.

I don't think a dev feels himself under-rated, in UX design. A developer is the main individual who's effort will be on the front foot. We designers are just working behind the line to propose our ideas. The developer will make a decision on whether this UX process is going to be implemented or not! Every functionality is not possible to be implemented without a Dev. Devs take the risk of solving bugs and handle too long codes for just the sake of proper functionality of the process.
