By showing empathy and engaging in a thoughtful conversation, I can uncover any underlying reasons for their behavior without immediately resorting to judgment. Next, I would try to build a team-oriented mindset. Encouraging collaboration and emphasizing the importance of collective success over individual achievement helps realign the team member’s focus. I can help them understand the importance of serving the group's goals, not just their own.

Here are a couple of strategies i recommend to address a team member who are too focus on themselves over the team: 1- Listen actively and with empathy for understanding of their motivations, concerns and aspirations. 2- Help them see how their self-centered actions affect the team. And offer support to shift their focus toward the collective. Model Collaboration: Demonstrate the behavior you expect and provide feedback that encourages more cooperative behavior, aligned with the team vision.
