Begin by rewarding them for their willingness to discuss their issues and request further details regarding what exactly they have doubts about. When you manage to address their concerns, then go on to justify the techniques you use, demonstrating how they will serve the intended purpose. Take into consideration that it is acceptable for you to make changes if it improves their way of learning. This in turn indicates that coaching is not a one-way thing but rather a teamwork. Foster future interactions so that they are likely to be brave enough to bring issues in the future.

I first listen actively to comprehend my coachee's worries without interrupting, demonstrating empathy & validating their sentiments ??, before responding to their inquiries about my approaches. After that, I explain the reasoning behind my tactics, relating them to their objectives & showing why they are beneficial to their development ??. Additionally, I promote open feedback, asking people to discuss what would be more effective for them & encouraging a cooperative conversation ??. I modify my approach as needed to ensure it meets their demands while being adaptable to keep them interested. Last but not least, I always follow up to make sure their worries have been taken care of and they are comfortable with the procedure ??.

When a coachee questions my methods, I see it as an opportunity to strengthen our coaching relationship. First, I listen actively—letting them express their doubts fully without interruption, showing them that their perspective matters. Once I understand their concerns, I clarify the reasoning behind my approach and connect it directly to their goals. Transparency is key here. I also invite their feedback, opening up the conversation to tailor our process if needed. By being open, collaborative, and clear about the purpose of my methods, I can turn doubts into trust and re-align our journey toward their success. How do you handle doubts in coaching? It’s all about empathy and clarity!

Less Thinking More Feeling. Allow them and encourage them to lean into what they feel Even if it might feel uncomfortable to you. ESPECIALLY if it feels uncomfortable to you. These types of conversations are necessary to have for any meaningful relationship. If not, stuck energy will exist indefinitely.
