Dealing with a client pushing too hard in training. Are you prepared to handle their limits?
While it's great to see a client eager in training, it's vital to ensure they're not pushing beyond safe limits. Here's how to manage their enthusiasm:
- Establish clear goals and boundaries at the outset, ensuring both you and your client understand the pace and progression of training.
- Monitor their performance and provide immediate feedback, especially if they're at risk of injury or burnout.
- Encourage open dialogue about discomfort or concerns, fostering a trust-based trainer-client relationship.
How do you balance a client's drive with their well-being during training? Share your strategies.

While it’s great to see a client eager in training, it’s crucial to ensure they don’t push beyond safe limits. Here’s how I manage their enthusiasm effectively: ?? **Establish Clear Goals and Boundaries**: At the outset, I work with clients to set achievable goals and clarify expectations regarding the pace and progression of their training. This creates a roadmap for their journey. ?? **Monitor Performance**: I closely observe their movements and provide immediate feedback, especially when I notice signs of fatigue or improper form. For example, if a client rushes through squats, I remind them to focus on quality over quantity to prevent injury.
