When guiding a client torn between two promising career paths, start by exploring their core values, passions, and long-term goals. Encourage them to evaluate each path's alignment with their lifestyle aspirations, strengths and areas they want to grow. Utilize resources like job shadowing, informational interviews and online courses to provide deeper insights into both fields. Discuss potential future trends and how each choice supports their personal and professional growth. Reassure them that it is normal to feel conflicted and emphasize that they can pivot in the future—no decision is permanent. Encourage reflection and gradual exploration before making the final choice.

A segunda coisa a ponderar é, qual o propósito do cliente.

When a client is torn between two career paths, guide them by helping them uncover their priorities and align their decision with their long-term goals. Encourage them to reflect on key questions such as: What excites you about each option? How do they align with your values, skills, and vision for the future? Suggest practical tools like a pros-and-cons list or a decision matrix to evaluate each path. Explore potential outcomes and encourage them to visualise where they see themselves thriving. Ultimately, the goal is to empower them to choose confidently, knowing the decision reflects their true aspirations. You could also suggest options such as internships and shadowing opportunities. Reassure them that it is normal to feel confused.
